About Us

The organisation was set up by a group of young like-minded individuals in the summer of 1991 at Srinagar, capital of occupied Kashmir, with Dr. Syed M. Inayatullah Andrabi becoming its first founder convenor. MI right from its inception has produced a huge amount of written material in the form of small pamphlets, newspaper articles, research papers, and leaflets distributed in general masses on Friday prayers. MI continues to play its historical role in the present situation of Kashmir, and remains committed to a complete end to India’s occupation of, and sovereignty over, Kashmir.

Mahazi-Islami is an independent political organisation which believes that politics and political power are genuine and effective tools to bring about healthy changes in societies and lead them on to the path of perfection (which necessarily is the path of progress and development in the real sense of these terms) as laid down in Islam.
